Sahetah’s Jewelry

Sahetah’s Jewelry was created by Melissa Arnold who also balances her time as a live-in caregiver for her grandfather. An artist at heart, Melissa always wanted to create beautiful things with her hands since childhood. Melissa taught herself to design Jewelry one year ago, and now sells in stores in Toronto, Trade shows and became a member of The Artisan Group. Through the Artisan Group she has had the wonderful opportunity to gift Zooey Deschanel with hand dyed Lucite flower earring and necklace set.

Sahetah’s Jewelry is very excited to gift the celebrity Nominees and Presenters of the Golden Globes for the very first time in January  2012. The Artisan Group swag bags that are gifted to the Celebrities and Presenters at the event will receive Sahetah’s Jewelry’s hand dyed Lucite flower earrings.

The designer, Melissa Arnold, was very eager to share her Feminine Steampunk creations for this special event. She designed a custom piece for the Golden Globes Gift Lounge hosted by GBK Productions called the Victoria Necklace to be on display along with many talented Artisans of The Artisan Group.

Only 15 of the Victoria Necklaces will ever be made by Sahetah’s Jewelry, and they come with a certificate of authenticity signed by the designer.

Sock Monkey Emporium

A couple of months ago we had the pleasure of interviewing Emma Maudsley, the talented designer behind the Sock Monkey Emporium. You can read her interview here.

The Sock Monkey Emporium is based in the UK and they hand make various animals out of socks. Their main products are monkeys, cats and dinosaurs but they welcome custom orders and have created all kinds of animals from a squid to a duck-billed platypus!! Since starting in 2010, they have been lucky enough to see their products sent out to US actress Jessica Alba and are very excited that their business cards will be in the swag bags given to celebrities by The Artisan Group at the GBK Productions Gift Lounges prior to not only the Golden Globes but also the Academy Awards. 2012 is already brimming with new opportunities and creations with several new products in the pipeline.

Seasons of Wool


We featured Seasons of Wool in our Craftsyble Holiday Gift Guide this year.

At Seasons Of Wool, they specialize in using natural fibers and re-purposed materials to create usable felt works of art. At the 2012 GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge, Lightweight Felted Alpaca Fingerless Cuffs will be gifted to members of the press. Each cuff is handcrafted using lace weight alpaca yarn, then felted to create a warm, yet lightweight, fabric. Each cuff is then embellished with a needle felted motif with a natural theme. The cuffs are functional, yet elegant and are designed to be worn alone or under gloves and mittens for extra warmth.

Our 2012 Golden Globes Artisan Series continues!

Beads of Aquarius

The designer behind “Beads of Aquarius” jewelry line is Mouna Marini, a Casablanca native. She lived  and traveled  to several countries during the last 20 years.

Her  artistic style:
She is an embroidered jewelry designer. Since she was a small child, she loved designing , painting, quilting… but embroidered jewelry became her passion;   “for me it’s a second nature, it gives me such positive feeling and instinctual energies, harmony with beautiful things around me and good vibes.”

Her inspiration comes from everything: nature, history, art painting, colors, people, cultures, multiethnic styles and more… She loves working with Swarovski crystals combined with gems, beads and cabochons.

Frida Kahlo cocktail rings collection  & Domus Pompei earrings are the OOAK designs that she will present to the 2012 GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge. Each member of the press will receive a unique cocktail ring & earrings designed especially for this event (and now available in her Etsy shop).

For this collection, the inspiration was art painting and history, following her inspiration and intuition, she used the soutache technique which is a silk cord around a swarovksi cabochons, in multiple colors as Frida Kahlo art painting.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Debrah, the artisan behind DBK Design Arts, earlier this year. We were delighted to hear she would be gifting the celebrities at the Golden Globes in 2012. Here is what she has to say about her participation:

“My gift to the press at the Golden Globes are my gemstone cuffs. They are made of enameled copper mesh, fiber and ribbons, gemstones and pearls, and are lined in the softest leather.  I love the contrast of the almost industrial feel of the wire mesh against the soft textile and the luxe, shiny gemstones. My goal is to create elegant and edgy jewelry and accessories that will delight and bring joy to the wearer. I enjoy using materials in unexpected ways to achieve beautiful results, and at it’s heart,  my work is always about color! My training is as a painter and I think that is at the heart of all my work, re-imagining painterly techniques in new ways.

Each piece I make is unique and one of a kind. My line includes mesh jewelry, gemstone jewelry, knitted items and hand dyed and felted cotton or wool and silk scarves. I love fiber and most of my work incorporates textiles in some way.

In the end, it is about making beautiful things.”
