Happily married and a Mom to three kids, Janice looks for items that are easy to care for and that fit her casual style. Unable to find what she was looking for in the ready-made marketplace, she decided to tap her 25+ years of sewing skills to start sewing creations of her own. The idea for the Inspiration Tote came from all of the positive pictures and posters she has hanging around her house.
Her desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives prompted her to design a bag that is not only functional but promotes positive thinking as well. The original tote that is on display at the gift lounge has the quote “If you can imagine it, you can dream it. If you can dream it, you can become it” – William Arthur Ward. The quote was chosen from entries to her Facebook page as the best one to describe her journey to the GBK Oscar Gift Lounge.

I’m known for making jewelry, but I’ve been a professional seamstress for 22 years. What I’ve enjoyed about seeing the displays for the Golden Globes and the Oscars, is taking a peek at all the sewn goods. And I gotta say, Janice is a talented seamstress! The pictures of her work don’t do them justice! The fabrics are more vibrant and full of depth, and the construction is just top-notch. Very lovely purses and so well-done! Awesome job, Janice!
