Mama Mahoney Creations

Happily married and a Mom to three kids, Janice looks for items that are easy to care for and that fit her casual style. Unable to find what she was looking for in the ready-made marketplace, she decided to tap her 25+ years of sewing skills to start sewing creations of her own. The idea for the Inspiration Tote came from all of the positive pictures and posters she has hanging around her house.

Her desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives prompted her to design a bag that is not only functional but promotes positive thinking as well. The original tote that is on display at the gift lounge has the quote “If you can imagine it, you can dream it. If you can dream it, you can become it” – William Arthur Ward. The quote was chosen from entries to her Facebook page as the best one to describe her journey to the GBK Oscar Gift Lounge.

The Scarlet Robin

Jenifer Gallagher and Jillian Anderson have built The Scarlet Robin focusing on the use of design to create jewelry that delivers a means of significant, personal self-expression. Collaboration is a cornerstone of this bi-coastal team and they feel privileged to be realizing a long-held dream to develop and grow a creative business.

Scarlet Robin jewelry is highly unique and luxurious. Weighty silver and substantial copper or bronze components set a Scarlet Robin piece apart from the competition. Each part of our designs features a special, trademark finish that conveys the distinctive softness and warmth of precious metal. As each piece comes from the hands of master artisans, there is richness and integrity that only handcrafting can create.

The Gold Stiletto Cutout will be included in this year’s Academy Award Celebrity Gift Bags. The design for this piece originated from a drawing of a tasty Jimmy Choo pump. It is then cut by hand with a jeweler’s saw, paired with a fuchsia Swarovski crystal charm and hangs from a black silicone cord. Jenifer and Jillian look forward to seeing this golden lovely hanging around the neck of a starlet!

Kathy C. Messick of Kath’s Elegant Accessories, LLC is participating in The Artisan Group’s GBK 2012 Oscars Luxury Gift Lounge.  Kath is gifting members of the press a Goldstone Wire Knitted Pendant – Billie.  Her business cards will also be included in the celebrity and press bags for this event.

In addition to her business card and press gift participation, Kath’s Elegant Accessories has a quarter page ad in The Artisan Group’s Oscars Event Guide. This ad features a variety of the pendants that were gifted to celebrities and members of the press during the 2012 GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge.

Cake Pop Fusion is a southern California based company specializing in custom cake pops, gifts, and treats. They ship all over the United States. Owners Pia and Kathleen Kayo began this venture in April 2011, combining Pia’s love of baking and Kathleen’s knack for creativity into a business that provides beautiful, whimsical, bite-size cakes for all events and occasions. Cake Pop Fusion cake pops are baked fresh when you order them and are individually hand-decorated to match any theme.

Four Black Paws

Four Black Paws was started by Sarah Struett in December 2010 in order to create stylish and affordable collars to our furry friends. Since that time, she has expanded her line to include custom, handmade dog bed covers that you simply stuff with old bed pillows. Not only is Four Black Paws creating cute pet accessories, they are also giving back to the community. For every collar and antler chew sold, $.50 is donated to a pet rescue organization. For every dog bed cover sold, $1.00 is donated to a pet rescue organization.

Sarah chose to send five beautiful styles of collars to be a part of the Press Gift Bags at the Oscars Gift Lounge. The collars are constructed for durability, comfort and strength. Each collar produced is unique and handmade by Sarah (with a little help from her fur kids!).

Release Me Creations

Release Me Creations offers unique, whimsical, handmade jewelry and accessories. Maureen Kirchdoerfer, designer and sole proprietor, started Release Me Creations in 2009 as a way to help her deal with her father’s Cancer diagnosis. And out of something very sad came something very beautiful. Her creations are all unique, and always have a touch of whimsy and romance. You can find pieces for all budgets and tastes within the shop. The celebrities at the Academy Awards will find one of Release Me Creations’ Whimsical Silhouette Necklaces within their gift bag. The necklaces each have their own message reminding us to not be afraid to let go and explore our dreams.
Release Me Creations has recently started working with Paws in the City Rescue group in Dallas, TX. Portions of the proceeds from her Doggy Silhouette and Rescue necklaces will go to helping animals in need. The charity is very important to her, as she has two doggy babies of her own that she loves very much.

Maureen is excited about her expanding small business, and looks forward to continuing to bring beautiful jewelery and accessories to those in search of them.

Afton Dufoe Photography

Lindsey Afton Dufoe creates photos to express her belief in the need for magic in the world. She specializes in merging surrealism with self portraiture. The infinite potential of fantasy has fascinated her since childhood and never fades.

Afton’s work is inspired by nature, adventure, fairy tales, and the unexplainable. She still vividly remembers many of her favorite childhood books and films and often subconsciously refers back to them for inspiration as well. Afton loves that the clouds and sunset are uniquely beautiful each day and applies this to her work. Ultimately, she strives to paint with photography what doesn’t physically exist but should.

Afton’s most popular print, “Keeper of the Stars,” will be featured by The Artisan Group at the GBK Productions Oscars Gift Lounge February 24-25, 2012 in Hollywood, California.
